The Association of Accrediting Agencies of Canada (AAAC) was founded in 1994 as a national network of professional education accrediting bodies. It provides a collaborative forum and a collective voice for the community which assesses the quality of professional higher education programs. AAAC advances the knowledge, skills, and good practices of accreditors, and communicates the value of accreditation as a means of enhancing educational quality.

The AAAC's Purposes are to:


Provide a forum for networking and information exchange for accrediting agencies and those organizations with an interest in accreditation


Identify and promote good practices for accreditation standards and processes


Monitor and research matters of common interest to our members


Advance the expertise of Canadian professional education accrediting agencies


Provide a mechanism for continuing education for indiividuals and organizations with accreditation responsibility
